I’ve been married to a great guy for 10 years that supports my “rubbah” habit - he just asks me if I am having fun as packages come in a the mail and bags come in from stores! I have no children but I am a Yorkie Mamma to three beautiful, spoiled, and demanding small fur balls - unconditional love. I tole painted for 15 years and never thought I would rubber stamp but I attended a stamping party and bought some things (I wanted to be nice to the hostess). I promptly put the “loot” in a drawer for about 8 months. Then I was invited to a Holiday card making party - the rest is history. I was hooked! Must attend classes, surf the web and buy, buy, buy - a girl can’t have too many stamps, hardware, bling or ribbon. With the power of the internet you can get all the inspiration you would possibly need and you can buy the “newest - have to have” products. I find stamping feeds my creative needs and is very relaxing! I love to look at something, put a twist to it and create something of my own. I can see that as my stamping skills have developed I love layers, dimension, sponging/distressing, hardware and working with a wide variety of techniques.

I’m a native Texan but have lived in NE Georgia for about 14 years. I’ve always been interested in art and music. My great-grandmother was an artist and taught me to paint when I was very young, though she used oil paints and I’ve always preferred water color. I’ve had a number of cards published in Rubber Stamper (I really miss them), Stamper’s Sampler, Just Invitations, Just Cards. I was honored to be the Featured Stamper at Splitcoast the week of April 5, 2009 and a member of the Dirty Dozen 7/09 thru 12/09. My work is usually described as detailed and the techniques I use are varied.

Married with 2 boys. I have a degree in ECE and taught in a cooperative Preschool for 9 years before starting my own home daycare business when my oldest son arrived. I am pleased to say that I am still going strong after 23 years in business and countless children being welcomed into my home and family. I have always loved crafting in some capacity or another. I can’t say exactly when I began stamping although I have always stamped as part of an art program I run with my little ones. By the way, they love stamping too. I get a lot of joy and satisfaction in creating cards. They seem to bring a smile to everyone who receives them. I (very hesitantly) started posting on SCS a few years ago….hit a bit of a slump when my mom got ill and passed away but I think stamping really helped me heal. Like the saying goes…’Art washes away the dust of everyday life.’ I find my inspiration on SCS and I see things in life that make me think….scary I am doodling design ideas all the time. I like to participate in the challenges on SCS whenever I can.

I like everything! I began stamping in the mid 90's and have never looked back. I love to try new techniques, altered art, collage, making jewelry by including stamping & painting. I have taught at stamp stores in Iowa, as well as Michael's in Iowa and Austin, TX; currently teach at Stamp Antonio Arts in San Antonio. Having a background in graphic design, stamping and mixed-media has helped me find my niche after retiring.
